Nope, Grits.

Everybody likes Fassel as a person and as a ST coach. Me included.

But we need a respected and strong hand as HC now. Insiders won't do. These players need an outsider that will crack the whip. When he says jump, they say, how high? Will run through brick walls for him.

Might be a former HC from either the NFL or college. Might be a strong current coordinator from another NFL team. But I think he needs a certain gravitas about him. Like when a General walks into a meeting room full of cadets, you know?

That ain't Coach Fassel. Sorry.

and he's a motivator and he is motivated.

A head coach does not have to be a great OC or DC. He just needs to have a good grasp on the big picture.

If you surround him with good coaches on offense like a Norv Turner and a good offensive line coach and you keep
the defensive coaches in place you might have something.

Plus the players like him.

He was place holding for a deposed coach and this team was emotionally spent after Fisher was fired.
You can't possibly blame Fassell for that.
