Here is my take on the game Rams were at a disadvantage early with 3 starters on the defensive line not playing. Frankly I want to know exactly why these guys could not play. The defense with the D-line subs did square themselves away and play good ball in this game. The Rams gave up 14 points in this game on two turn overs. Gurley's fumble and Keenums Pick 6. In the 2nd half the Bills offense was stymied until the pick 6 thrown by Keenum. The run game for the Rams I personally thought looked the best it has all season and I was pleased. Could have been better but I saw signs of life there today. The Rams defense gave up some run yards today but again 3 starters were out. Otherwise I think it can be argued the Rams defense played well. Rams were in this game until the dumbass fake punt. Simple as that. Quarterback. In my opinion it can be argued that Keenum's short comings are holding back the passing game. I don't know where Goff is at this time but Keenum is clearly limited despite being productive as a starter for the most part. Finally, I didn't expect to win every ball game. Next week they have a real shot at being 4-2. I knew this would be a tough game and it was. Bills were the better team today. Agreed on going for it instead of the fg. If you don't make it the Bills are pinned deep and the Rams defense was stopping them from getting anything in the second half. Score ,it's tied . If not get them off the field with the punt good field position and go after them again.

Over half way through the 4th quarter the bills had 35 yards total in the second half, 4/5or 5/6 three and outs with just the FG.
So starting three guys up front on defense took time for them to settle in. Four things beat them today:
the three starters not playing, leading to 148yards rushing and 13 points. The pick six which is all on Keenum( did he not see the db was right there).
The fake punt with 3:48 to go and three timeouts. I'm with you that the running game was the best it's been so far this year. Not great but best it's been. Signs of life.

Personally if you're going to gamble I'd have gone for it on 4th down from the Bills 5 or whatever down 23-16 vs. taking the FG instead of that fake punt. I'm not a fan of ever fake punting inside your own 40.

I also agree that they're still well positioned for a possible 4-3 or even 5-2 start at the bye. That's the issue. I don't believe at all that the issue is that Westbrooks, Longacre, and Thomas don't have talent. They did start off shaky allowing all those yards the first two possessions but then pretty much tightened

It was 13 to 3 and the Bills were making it look easy early on.

Instead the Rams fought back and this game was 16 all in the 3rd quarter.

If not for Keenum's pick 6 mistake I think the Rams could have won this game.

Moral victory? Look! Nobody expected the Rams to win every game but they could have won this game. They didn't but they could have because they kept fighting.

Maybe you would have been happier if they had just quit?

You seem to misunderstand what I wrote. Let me clarify it for you. The run game was the best it has been all season. Rams actually had a resemblance of a running game today. Gurely had 72 yards rushing and around 30 yards receiving so he had combined yards of 100.

Tavon Austin was effective running the ball today as well.

That is better then we've had all season for the most part and yet the Rams were still 3-1 coming into this game.

They showed signs today they are perhaps correcting some blocking schemes and the way they attack the run as an offense.

You jumped to a generalized conclusion that I think this is sufficient. I never said that.

However the Rams defense did force the Bills into many three and outs in the 2nd half. Keenum's stupid Pick 6 opened the door for the Bills. Until then they had been blanked in the 2nd half.

I don't know that I agree with that in total but I partially agree with what you stated.

In the 2nd half the Rams defense had shut down the Bills offense. It was not until Keenum threw the pick 6 that Buffalo scored any points in the 2nd half.
