With all this talk on Love I thought this would be a good subject (no, I'm not trying to compare the two so don't turn it into that) He had really good numbers at school...... The kind of numbers that mean something. We all assumed it was pass blocking but I can't believe by seasons end he couldn't block. My best guess is he didn't recognize blitzes well but is that something they can see that in practice alone? I've not saw anything in print even the fake stuff. I have hopes that he has worked hard on his own, asked a lot of questions, watched with his eyes, and also thought out the plays he's seen with his eyes. He needs to hit the road hard and fast in all camps and be on the field a bunch in pre season. He has 3 perfect examples in front of him to do all the things I spoke on.

My guess is the mental side, he just wasn't up to speed...

That being said, no way the Rams draft a RB this year... they love Kyren, Corum came on, and they drafted Hunter... and they like Rivers too and whenever Rivers plays he looks like Williams and Corum .... sooo

I would love to be wrong about that because while I love Williams because of his heart and intangibles... I was wrong.....

In 2024, KW was essentially the Rams bell cow RB. He was 3rd in the NFL in rushing attempts with 317, only behind Saquan and Henry.. Because KW didn`t really have anyone else behind him, it gave the rookie Corum an opportunity to get some carries (58) and become RB2.

Now year 2 (2025), Corum is showing improvement and playing with confidence. The Rams fed him more as the season went on, and he had success, including his first ever 100 yard game and ended the season averaging 5.1 yards per carry, which was high than KW (4.8). Unfortunately for Hunter, due to Corum`s emergence, Hunter didn`t get the same opportunity Corum had in 2024.

It`s just so hard to rotate 3 guys in and I think its a bad idea anyway. I always like keeping the hot hand in. Personally, I don`t like the running back by committee approach and never have. However, the RBBC approach the Rams used last year with KW & BC did have some success, so kudos to McVay and his coaches to find a way to make it work.

I just don`t see where Hunter fits in at all in 2026, unless there is an injury to KW or BC. How is his pass blocking? That`s another thing Corum improved a lot on.

I would not want to take any carries away from KW & BK, especially with how they gelled down the stretch last season and Courm started breaking some longer runs outside, while also picking up some key blocks effectively.

Hunter could improve and still become a better player even if he`s on the sidelines. Maybe he will be part of the Rams future plans or maybe just fade away. I'm thinking he wasn't grasping all the mental aspects of the O, but that includes blocking assignments. He only played a little on ST's. 1. We don't really know one way or another if he's going to contribute this year and for sure we don't know how much.
2. His pass pro was rated as "OK" from what I remember. I'm sure that he is a player that will stick his nose in there, he seemed to be "tough."
3. I think that 2 things kept him off the field, possibly 3:
a) he wasn't noticeably better than either Williams or Corum, so in that case what's the point?
b) he would not or could not play STs, I did notice him in there towards the end of the season, but that's after Dolac and other guys were getting hurt.
c) Like I mentioned, I think he would stick his nose in there on pass pro, however we don't know if he understood who to block with each line call, if you can't figure that out, you can't do pass pro.

Like I mentioned, I'm just guessing of course.
