Av's 2026 Rams Draft Board: Version 2.0 (Post-Combine/Top 40 Prospects/w/TRADE LINES)

Here's my post-Combine update!

*I've expanded the board from 25 to 40 prospects.

**I've added two "TRADE LINES" If any of the players above the first trade line are on the board at #13, the presumption is that I'd make the pick and decline trade offers. If any of the players above the second trade line are available at pick #29, I again would favor just making the pick. (Either presumption, of course, can be overridden by a truly lopsided offer but, presuming relatively "equal value," I'd just make the pick).

***This could become somewhat outdated after the first wave of free agency (after which I'll post a Version 3.0), but here's my current list!

Before the combine I would have said Cooper, but I think he got a little boost, and with Buffalo at #26 and San Francisco at #27, I don`t think he gets past them.

I was recently saying the very same thing about if the Rams want to wait until #29 to take a CB. There is likely to be at least one very good option there. Its going to all come down to what they do at #13. I think they are more likely to go offensive weapon at #13.

Some teams clocked Tate in the 4.45-4.47 range..

I have officially given up on the possibility of Tate dropping to the Rams at #13. It just seems too likely that he`s the first WR off the board.

The Sadiq-McVay dynamic is interesting. TE is McVay`s favorite position and you know he`s thinking about what he can do with Sadiq if he drafted him. The only possible scenario I see it happening is if the Rams go CB at #13 and Sadiq is still on the board at #29 and the Rams WR targets are gone. Something tells me Omar Cooper Jr. goes in somewhere in the 20's, before #29. Apparently the Bills (#26) and the 49ers (#27) like him a lot.

Thanks, as always, for the feedback...

I was very close to taking Woods off my board. My gut says that there's a fit issue, and his production last year was pedestrian. Maybe I should just go with my gut.

My issue with Hunter is that he was a guy listed at 325 lbs. (nice NT size), then showed up at the Combine at 318, but it didn't help on his times or vertical/broad jumps. This could be an example of post-Combine overthinking, I confess, but he just fell short of my list.

As far as Simson goes... if the Rams make some significant improvements in free agency, I might start thinking of making "future picks" like a QB prospect. Right now, though, its "win now" mode.

You bring up a good point about the trade lines. If multiple players above either line are there at 13 or 29, it does allow for small (moving back 2-3 spots) moves to add mid-round picks.

Thanks again!

Outstanding list

I think it is safe to assume that of the top 8, only Lemon has a shot at getting to the Rams? Maybe Delane. Could Bain's really short arms cause him to drop? The Rams did meet with him. Delane or Lemon would be a good start.

I wonder what happens with Tate. His film is great. But he measured the same height and lighter in weight than Tyson. Then his 40 time. I figured he's run a 4.49-4.5, so 4.53 is not an issue to me, and I doubt it is to the Rams.

Bailey is long gone, but he rest of group 9-17 should be available at 13, so if the Rams are good any of them, a small trade down is on the table. The Rams def. want to get a 4th round pick in this draft. Tate, McCoy and Boston are my favorites in that order.

Group 18-40 is by far my favorite group (that is actually obtainable)
Chris Johnson I mocked to the Rams in 1.0 at pick 29, he had an amazing combine. I still like him at 29.

Omar Cooper is a guy I am seriously considering putting at 29 in 2.0. Daniel Jeremiah called him the "Ramsiest" WR in the draft. He really fits.

Tyson is a question mark. I was off the fence with him and his injury history, now after the combine and Lemon's interviews and Tates size, I think I'm back on the fence. People keep asking if I'm back and I haven't really had an answer. But now, yeah, I'm thinkin' I'm back.

Dillon Thieneman is a favorite of mine, and he really showed out. Its a deep SAF class, and the Rams don't seem to prioritize SAF early, so not sure he's a legit target, but he would be on my short list at 29.

Freeling may have tested his way into the top half of the draft. He's raw, but a stud. I really like Max Iheanachor and Caleb Lomu at OT as well.

Peter Woods as a 198 lb. DT is a no draft for me (had to pick on your typo) I think Woods would be a luxury pick in all seriousness.

Sadiq is long gone by 29, I am really curious about the Rams interest in him. If they like Oregon TEs, they have to absolutely love him. He is bigger and faster than most WRs in this draft. So could the Rams use him as a WR in 11 personnel and as a TE in 13 personnel? I'm being serious. Its a lot of routes to learn, but just imagine what McVay could do with him, and they tried to get Bowers. He's a weapon aligned anywhere.

Cashius Howell seems like a Rams style EDGE

Really great list. Surprised I didn't see Lee Hunter on the list, I'm assuming he was a just missed guy.
No Ty Simpson. Interesting. I think in the win now window, he doesn't fit. But he seems like a fit.
