WR Ted Hurst catch..

[x.com]

Hurst (6`4 206) is a freak with some serious upside. He seemed to pull up a little at the end in his 4.42 40. Word is he`s run as fast as a 4.37.

Was Brian Quick (Rams #33 overall pick in 2012 - 4.53 40) a better small school WR prospect than Hurst (4.42 40)? I don`t think so.

I don`t think anyone can figure out where he goes in this draft. He`s definitely a day 2 guy, but where in day 2? Some team will fall in love with him.

I don't care how old he is. If someone uses a mid-round pick on him and he ends up being a cheap player who plays very well for that team for 3-4 years then lets him go as he becomes more expensive, it's a nice win for the team that drafted him.
What I have read is that he is not a nuanced route runner yet, is not great at finding holes in zones yet and does not seem to be into blocking when the ball isn't in his hands. I just don't see him fitting the type of WR the rams prefer. But I don't think the Rams care if held an older rookie or not, either.

They were the two "freaks" I wanted to watch.

Note, Hurst turned down a lot of money to stay where he was. It's another aspect of NIL life I like. Kids that are loyal and bet on themselves and their program. It's noteworthy.
Chris Johnson at SDstate gets extra points also.

Thing is, and I think mcvay or snead mentioned it.
Kids drafted later don't feel the same pressure.

It would be best for him to be drafted in the 4th or 5th. But he's a 3rd round player.
