It would make sense that they attack it aggressively. Maye some "over loads" on the line, maybe some unique pressures that they don't normally use. I think they will be coming hard on every FG and XP just because if they succeed, it will only cause more doubt amongst the kicking unit. Having said that, will Blackbum be ready for it??? Will he have a plan for "unplanned" things??? I am not worried now as Jake McQuaide is a veteran and former all pro. Ward did struggle with blocking plus some of the protection calls. The kicker in Mevis should be more confident than Karty because he only missed one FG in the UFL (63 yards) and he just beat out Rodrigo Blankenship, who was another top kicker in the UFL and an NFL veteran & then he beat out Karty in the competition.

Will Blackburn still require Mevis to wait until ball is down and steady by Evans? If so, then expect the same results.

If not, then why replace Karty?

The holder could be an issue, but I am counting on better snaps to speed up the operation. I didn't find a site that showed how many different O-Line blocking combinations LA has used with their PAT/FG sp\teams.

There is a method to the madness, but the 4-1-4 blocking wall and where each player best fits is a bit of a chess board.

This was the Starting 9 field goal blocking formation 4-1-4 listed left to right vs the Saints. (i subbed mcquaide for alex ward)

Look. Our new Kicker has kicked a lot of balls, and only recently. With good success. He can't worry about whether his protection does their job. He just needs to get it up in the air and straight.

So, honestly, Karty needs some time to regain his composure. If the new guy can just give us consistent PATs, and FGs from 40-43 yards and closer like he did in Canada, we're good.

I don't think he's a 50-55 yard FG guy.

I also suspect we're going to have Evans kicking off every time and driving it through the End Zone.
