Time to bench Parkinson for Ferguson

Seeing that crazy catch that Ferguson made for 21 yards with the defender in his grill.....you can see he has great hands and body control something that Parkinson doesn't. Why does McVay stick with Parkinson? Compare the dropped pass in the end zone by Parkinson last night.

So to see him focus that ball in and overcome the contact and faceguarding was impressive.

I admit I have no idea if he's ready to play. But I am looking forward to him getting his shot, even if it's just a few plays he knows well and is one of the early reads. Just from a pure pass catching standpoint, over the middle, I think he can help us. He just has to show the coaches he can do the other stuff. The hard stuff, like blocking that DE.

Fergy is certainly the better pass-catcher and athlete, and he's certainly smart enough to learn quickly.

But let's face it - on the plays where the TE is (say, less than five per game) not targeted he's blocking (call it 60 per game) and must learn every blocking assgnment, and every opponent he must face on the edge and in the secondary.

That's 90 percent of the workload and where experience comes in - and we know that McVay is reluctant to play anybody who isn't "there" yet to the point of not making predictable mistakes.

It's most likely his blocking that is keeping him on the sidelines so far. His catching ability is not the issue.

From what I've seen Parkinson isn't much of a blocker and he drops passes and fumbles. They need to unleash Ferguson.....he could be a George Kittle type player for the Rams.
