If McVay is so dog gone smart…

I wonder why Rams continue to have these issues.

Why do Rams continue to ignore TE’s as serious weapons?

Why isn’t Whittington not the undisputed #3WR and getting far more targets? Using Atwell and then giving Puka and Adams (who has kinda disappointed so far) 90% of the targets only makes the D’s job easier. Get Whit on the field then TARGET him. The dude is a playmaker.

Why go to low percentage deeper throws on 3rd and short when the running game is clicking time and again?

Why keep forcing the ball to the underperforming Adams when Whittington, Higbee, Allen, Kyren, and Corum are available? It’s almost like a poker player insisting on drawing to an inside straight when he’s all in.

I think Stafford got hurt in this Eagle game. Do you have the stones to start Jimmy G?

Why hire LaFleur as your OC and then not listen to him about using running game and TE’s more?

Surely there’s a better option for RG than Limmer on this roster. Why not give another guy a shot if Dotson can’t go? WTH do you have to lose?

I love McVay. He’s my favorite Ram HC ever, but he does have his blind spots, sooo…

Part of it might be the 2 former Georgia DT's that Philly have. Maybe they dominated him when he was at Arkansas? It's a mental thing? Yeah, I know, I may be stretching here. Bottom line. His pass pro is getting worse. Also, the Rams decided to trade Leveston who was rated high by PFF in presason and waving Willie Lampkin. I'll give it a stab.

Quote

Why do Rams continue to ignore TE’s as serious weapons?

Why isn’t Whittington not the undisputed #3WR and getting far more targets? I think the pass protection has a lot to do with all of this. Stafford needs more time to find 2nd, 3rd and 4th options. That's not to say that we can't throw in a few twists with the second-tier guys being primary, but I don't blame this all on playcalling.

Quote

Why go to low percentage deeper throws on 3rd and short when the running game is clicking time and again?

I agree that sometimes it would be more prudent to just pick up the first down. Of course, if we caught the Eagles favoring the run and made a big play, this would be a different conversation.

Quote

Why keep forcing the ball to the underperforming Adams when Whittington, Higbee, Allen, Kyren, and Corum are available? It’s almost like a poker player insisting on drawing to an inside straight when he’s all in.

I do think that we've been looking to Adams a lot, and the percentage of completions (44.8%) is low. Still... he has 2 TDs and should have had a third but for a Stafford air mailing an easy Red Zone slant.

Quote

I think Stafford got hurt in this Eagle game. Do you have the stones to start Jimmy G?

Note sure where you're getting this one. He was shaken up on a second half hit, but seemed fine at the end of the game.

Quote

Why hire LaFleur as your OC and then not listen to him about using running game and TE’s more?

I like the running game usage overall.

Quote

Surely there’s a better option for RG than Limmer on this roster. Why not give another guy a shot if Dotson can’t go? WTH do you have to lose?

He loved Ramsey and Donald and OBJ and now Davante. I think he has a man crush on his star players.

I believe it is McVay is forcing all the plays to Davante, not Stafford. We have some plays where if this guy breaks this way, then go to the other guy, but mostly our plays have a target. Stafford is throwing to Davante so much because McVay is calling plays to Davante.

Throwing 50/50 balls on 3rd and 2 needs to stop.

But if you look at the overall theme of all our challenges, it comes down to they are the same challenges we have had and continue to have.

McVay doesn't change. And when he tries to, it looks ugly. Or he gets too cute.

McVay even struggles just to leave his 11 personnel and run 12 personnel.

But we win more games every year than we can remember, and players want to play for him.

But the more things change, the more they stay the same.
