I noticed and shared the other day that Joe Noteboom is the fourth longest tenured Ram on the Roster... Havenstein (2015), Higbee (2016), Kupp (2018)....

Elmendorf was great. Didn't Elmendorf start a few years at safety with Nolan Cromwell at the other safety? Cromwell was a great player. And Jim Youngblood was on that team I believe--superior OLB?

Really just one with DE and NC but 76-79 Elmendorf was a starter on D with Jim Youngblood ... Elmendorf left at the '79 Super Bowl ... a solid 9year career]]> JimYoungblood53 RamsFootballFans.comThu, 20 Jun 2024 20:11:09 -0400 https://ramsrule.com/herd/read.php?19,1101691,1101791#msg-1101791 Re: Dave Elmendorf turns 75 tomorrow...https://ramsrule.com/herd/read.php?19,1101691,1101791#msg-1101791 nantucketramfan RamsFootballFans.comThu, 20 Jun 2024 19:58:08 -0400 https://ramsrule.com/herd/read.php?19,1101691,1101761#msg-1101761 And the great Matt Maslowski....https://ramsrule.com/herd/read.php?19,1101691,1101761#msg-1101761having a reception, a fumble, a fumble recovery

WELL....what a @#$%& night for this Canadian!!!

Let's remember back nearly half a century ago in North American culture, eh!
Regular guys, even Corporate business guys had hair over their ears.
Then there was us "baby-killers & war-mongers" in the military with our PorkChop Hill buzz-cuts....and, to paraphrase Leonard Cohen Canada's great poet & songwriter from BirdOnAWire......"I was one of those".
I basically sprinted......certainly "ran" to Jack Youngblood and introduced myself as "The Biggest Rams Fan In Canada!", and...

my God, all 4 Rams players were just so so nice to this memorizer of EVERY 1975 STREET&SMITH RAM STAT that evening at that Playboy bar in Buffalo for me!

I guess to them, here was this 110% enthusiastic Rams fan.........from a foreign country!!! I offered to Jack Youngblood "a beer."....but after I asked him "is rookie CB Monte Jackson gonna start over the former Ram CB starter Al Clark?" JY said to me...."hey, for a Canadian, you REALLY do know your stuff, let me by YOU a beer!!"

WHATTA A NIGHT!!!! for this Canuck!!! :thumb

Isaiah Robertson offered me a "Jive-Handshake"( for lack of a better description) which I am sure I screwed-up....but Bob Klein our back-up TE and our tough-as-nails StrongSafety Dave Elmendorf were absolute gentlemen to this peach-fuzz Canadian, having an absolute lifelong memory event with 4 of my Los Angeles Rams idols!

For the uninitiated regarding the Western New York State demographic stats....

Buffalo NY has the largest concentration of Polish folks outside of Warsaw and Krakow.......and most of those female types.....at least back in the mid-1970s were blonde, blue-eyed gorgeous Polish gals who migrated towards my 4 Ram heroes.....and pretty soon we 5 stopped talking Ram Football......and I began to understand what "media attraction" meant in Westerm New York. None of those 4 Ram players left the bar unescorted that night......in my humble opinion!!!!

I understood the group migration of Buffalo's best honeys towards my 4 Ram studs..........and I bid adieu, as any good Rams fan would, IMO.

In my life.
the Rams experience has been one of Fraternity and Fellowship. I have met great Rams fans from all over North America in my travels to live Rams Games in....Buffalo, Pittsburgh, Seattle (many times), .......and the RoseBowl, Pasadena where the most ever saw our Rams be leading the media-darling Steelers 19-17 starting the 4th Quarter at SB XIV, where Bradshaw threw 3 picks....and somehow as still SB XIV MVP......if only Nolan Cromwell hangs on to that guarenteed PickSix Bradshaw carelessly lobbed out ot the flat!!!!! :frown

With oldster baby-boomers like me........you say "Dave Elmendorf".......and you get a dithering story!!!! :)]]> VancouverRam RamsFootballFans.comThu, 20 Jun 2024 02:51:38 -0400 https://ramsrule.com/herd/read.php?19,1101691,1101694#msg-1101694 What a Great Safetyhttps://ramsrule.com/herd/read.php?19,1101691,1101694#msg-1101694 den-the-coach RamsFootballFans.comWed, 19 Jun 2024 22:36:15 -0400 https://ramsrule.com/herd/read.php?19,1101691,1101691#msg-1101691 Dave Elmendorf turns 75 tomorrow...https://ramsrule.com/herd/read.php?19,1101691,1101691#msg-1101691 JoeT13B RamsFootballFans.comWed, 19 Jun 2024 21:28:05 -0400
