They actually interviewed Holmgren about that and some felt that if Holmgren was the HC the Rams would not have moved to St. Louis. Not sure about that although I feel he would have been better than Knox the Rams did not have a strong GM in place like the Packers did with Ron Wolfe.

maybe they thought Holmgren was too all-inclusive in his approach compared to Knox. Knox not into the GB thing ... Holgren was all about coaching, scheme and had an interest in personnel ... Knox seemed more satisfied to let others do a lot of that other stuff .. .and just giving his philosophy and so on.

Wanted a really nasty defense and the prospect of bringing back Chuck Knox was a total yawner and downer for me.
