PFF says he played 7-8 snaps in the past. He hasn't. It's a mistake by them. He played on once, based on the RB going wide and Jones was playing CB and the WR move in making DK the "slot" ... but it was a fluke formation

I did not like Kendrick in college, I felt he struggled covering top tier WR's and at the next level, he just did not have the speed to stick with them. Last season I did see some improvement, but then he started making some boneheaded decisions that led to multiple penalties being called against him. IMO, Kendrick is a great practice player, but it does not come to fruition on game day. The fact he was playing the star position has me concerned as I feel there has to be better options IMHO.

I think his playing some star is an indication they are looking to see if he an do more than one thing -- so he can maybe have a roster spot. This is what teams sometimes do to find a spot --- the more things you can do, they more you have a chance to stay.

It's just not good viewing. Nothing against his love of the Rams or taking cues from Jourdan, that is what he has to do, he's not able to report directly. But the topic is good enough. I am glad you could enjoy the full length of it.

Also, it's not wanting things we don't know -- he's in no position, nor is Baine or those guys to do it ... it would not be fair to ask them to do what they are not capable of. But, I'm thinking 5-10 minutes rather than 20 on some of these topics ... is all I can personally take. Others --- if they like it, good on them. This one was 10 could have been 5. Some are 10 minutes and could be ten.

I think as a catalyst, it's a good jumping-off point for conversation. He's not backing up why likes Cobie wide, as opposed to star. He's better in the star position when ... he can blitz, can make some plays ... like no other player on roster. But he's small, so if there is a TE in the slot it is a matchup problem. TThat is where Lake can do better ... in matchups.

Last year, outside, he didn't play bad but was not good, either ... Rams CBs --- Rams were not happy with them but of them, I think Cobie has most value -- of those on roster last year.

I think that Shula is just tinkering with the various players for his defense. He will continue to mix-and-match until he sees the best fit for the starting four or five in the secondary. Kendrick will either rise or fall based upon Shula‘s observations.

And here Durant has been talked about as both CB and star this upcoming year. Nothing wrong with Jake going on for however long, but we can arrive at the point a lot faster.

Durant played field corner last year and also star but didn't make the impact plays he did as a rookie.

What would be interesting is if Jourdan told us WHAT CB positions Durant and Williams were player ... if they are going to do what they usually do ... or if Durant is really in White's position and if Williams is where he will be during season or up Williams was bumped to the boundary and Durant to the field ...in White's absence.

We did see that DK and Yeast were playing some star... that would presume Rams know what they have in Durant if they wanted to go 3 CBs in nickel since they have seen him, he's a known quantity.

Jake is fine ... he's a good fan and has worked his way to the top ... but man, he takes so long to arrive at his point. I have to skip through until I find the point -- cannot listen to him that long.

Plus, he's just taking Jourdan's reports and going on about them. We do that here and even in Jourdan's case --- she's not distinguishing the kind of CB durant is playing and that would be interesting to know.

They, or I should say, Les, seemed very solid about the backend of his defense last year when questioned at the end of the season.

Clearly, the GM feels they have a stable of corner that can compete.
There's a group of DBs that they have to sort out during OTAs. So often McVay eschews mandatory mini camp. Shula must have convened with the front office and agreed that they have enough in the secondary to go out and succeed.

Whether Jake is right about this Corner or not, he's got the right drift in noting how they laid out the recent non contact sessions. They had #14 going on the perimeter.

For argument sake, when they suit for exhibition? Who they protect will reflect back on Jake's vid. If they warehouse this cornerback then Jake wins. I'd almost guarantee they'll mothball T.White for xball.

On the bright side?
