They opened me up at 530 am and I was awake by 12pm. I knew something was wrong when i awoke that soon. The doctor came in and told me they didn't take out my bladder because the cancer has spread to my side and looks like "a slab of concrete." They closed me up and now tell me I have a 20 or 30% chance and my only hope is chemo.

I was supposed to have 4 rounds but my blood was not recovering from the drugs so my oncologist cancelled the last round and said, "That's it. You're done". It was hard on me but I'm still glad I did it because it bought me some needed time to slow the cancer growth till my surgery could take place 3 months later.

Do everything you can to help yourself through this. Learn as much as you can, read, talk to professionals and to other patients who've been down the same road. There are lots of reputable resources on the internet and perhaps even in your hospital and in your community. I don't know if it would help you or even if you would be interested, but you may want to discuss the possibility of a clinical trial with your doctor. That's kind of a last resort thing.

It's true that having a positive outlook and an attitude of gratitude and grace will help you tremendously... no matter WHAT the outcome. If people want to help... let them. We can all benefit from a kind word and a hand extended in friendship.

What were the chances that a 30 year old coach would take the rams to 2 SBs in 6 years after not making the playoffs for well over a decade.

Much less than 20-30% my friend.

Also, its the same odds of a 3rd round pick makes the team. That ain't no thing for a team that drafted John Johnson and Cooper Kupp in the 3rd round.

I know it seems pretty dark right now but try and keep a positive mental attitude. It can do wonders for you. The brain is a very powerful thing. A positive attitude is essential.

You CAN get through this brother. Do not think otherwise. Keep up the fight. Try every available treatment.
