How do you feel about todays NFL where the rules are skewed to protect certain players - especially QB's and players are fined and suspended for certain hits?

I was watching a fantastic NFL Films production about you wherein you indicated given your size and speed, you tried to put the QB in the hospital on every play. It was ironic to me that NFL Films rightfully promotes your greateness and yet, in todays NFL, that statement would likely get you banned for life.

I was curious as to your thoughts on the topic.

It was because of you and your 3 compadres on that d-line in ’67, the next to last game of that regular season beating the Packers (who had astronaut-like hero status to many young lads that I knew at that time), and then facing the Packers again for the conference championship a week before the Ice Bowl that made me a Rams fan. So thank you, so very, very much for that.

My question is – if the current playoff seeding was in effect during that ’67 post-season, do you believe in your head, as opposed to your heart, that our Rams would have beaten Green Bay and then Dallas, given both games would have been played in LA, to make it to Superbowl II ? And please let us know how that Superbowl would have ended if it wasn’t the Packers that went.

{p.s. I loved the Brady Bunch back in ’71 and it was one of the longest 7 days of my young life waiting to see you on TV because we didn’t see much of the Rams in Connecticut in the 60’s & 70’s – and you did not disappoint, sir}

A lot of the suffering is from damage to the head. It seems like it is something more recent. Players from your era seem to be less afflicted.

So what do you think about the changes to the rules that help protect players and what do you think about players from the past not getting any quality medical care?

Well, I don't have a real question persee I just want to thank you for the many years of enjoyment and thrills you gave me as a young RAMS fan back in the 60's and 70's.
I had season tickets in the Coliseums portable endzone way back then and I just bet you remember how close and noisy we were in that big metal contraption, I enjoyed those seats and your play along with many other RAMS players for 15 years until the move.

Your class and intensity is what set the tone for the way I watched and enjoyed my RAMS football back then and it has carried my enthusiasm for the RAMS to this day.

I guess I'll ask one simple little question, when I played football way back when I always noticed that I couldn't really hear the crowd, now granted my crowds were smaller than yours for sure so I wanted to ask you, did you hear those big crowds or were you enjoying yourself to much to do so?
