I wish the weren't so double minded. I mean we don't see Garrett but we see but we put other players out their who are and were not 100%.

Mcvay says Adams' recovery will be closer to the 6 week mark than 10. The injury happened on the 18th. 6 week would be right before or right after GB on 11/25. I'm gonna say here that the refs are causing problems. The integrity of the connection between officiating and gambling needs an audit ... or I really can't counter arguments made by people suggesting it's staged.

There will be a "trade for WR" section where we can look at what I've been looking at as an avid fantasy owner.


The Great

1) That our 4th string TE can make plays.

2) Corum and his fresh legs and cutting abilities.

3) Puka gutting it out for a needed win.

4) Jaylen Watson. For a mostly unheralded pickup he's balling.


The Good

5) Running the ball when we should run the ball. The Raiders are the worst and you have to take advantage of that.

6) Pass blocking was decent.

7) Speights was playing angry.

8) Dolac was more than serviceable.

9) Thought Hamilton made some plays?

10) Higbee's hands catch on that third down.

11) I love our safety group.

12) We kept Bowers relatively bottled up. We're apparently one of the best at guarding the TE position.

13) The clock draining at the end.


The Bad

14) What is up with Parkinson coming in and out of the game.

15) Kyren has to stop fumbling. Like that was the last one.

16) Letting Tre Tucker blow up.

17) Not enough involvement from the other WRs. Guys, Adams is not coming back for a long time.

18) Not getting home on Cousins til late.

19) Lord that INT was ridiculous.


The Ugly

20) Letting them back in the game.

21) Our team in every 3rd quarter

22) Special Teams. I know.

23) Whoa, Klare didn't dress?


WR trade options

24) Guys I think that are out of reach because of others willingness to overpay ... Josh Downs and Brian Thomas Jr.

25) Guy that I would actually give a decent haul for ... Ladd McConkey. 28 1st? 27 2nd? Likely a yes from me.

26) Guy that makes a ton of sense because of who we lost ... Keenan Allen.

27) Guy that I think is a money issue ... Courtland Sutton.

28) Wild Card ... Marvin Mims.

29) Values that may not actually pan out ... Quentin Johnston ... Troy Franklin.


College

30) WRs are going up and up. KJ Duff has entered the chat with some crazy play. Charlie Becker has moved way up for me. Honestly I can't believe how fast he is. I still like guys that will be there at 64. TE is maybe the best class, and one may even beat Warren out for TE0 (Luke Reynolds) ... I have 4 that could go in round 1 (Should they all come out).

31) ILB is really strong.

32) Not as high on RB class now. But if Kyren keeps fumbling I'll remember that Mike Washington and Jonah Coleman both went in round 4 last year.

33) QBs look like they're trying to fail sometimes. Right now I have Maiava and Carr at 1/2 ... I think Arch may go back again ... Mestemaker is for real ... but also may stay IMO. I think Mensah has to come out ... Moore ? How does he come back from that hit? Sayin gonna come out? I think it's still a great class, and anyone that stays will be fighting an improving Underwood, Raiola, Sagapolotule, and maybe the best ... Bear Bachmeier.

Downs is exactly the perfect fit....Fast, twitchy and a really good route runner. Proven to be an NFL WR even at 5'10". He's everything that Tutu isn't.

And then, the draft came, and I, like many others, was surprised.

I'm not going to question or rehash any analysis of the first round selection of Ty Simpson. The reason is simple: he was selected as a prospect to groom to one day (2028?) replace Matthew Stafford, and nothing (apart from his preseason performances, which were fine) has changed.

I am, however, going to criticize (most of) the rest of the draft. In this respect, I am breaking my own "trust the experts" rule.

With that said...

Max Klare. This pick surprised me. With four TEs already on the roster, this seemed like a strange pick, even with the Rams' use of 13 personnel. I chalked it up as another future selection, as there's a good chance that Tyler Higbee and Colby Parkinson will be gone by 2027. What makes this pick seem suspect now, however, is that, even with Terrance Ferguson on IR, and Colby Parkinson hobbled, Klare isn't getting a look. This suggests that McVay does not trust Klare, which is surprising for a second round pick. I'm not writing him off, but I am disappointed.

Keagan Trost, who was the only player from my board that the Rams selected, gets an incomplete. Hopefully, he'll contribute when needed.

CJ Daniels is another player who, given the Rams injuries (Puka briefly, and now Davante) would be ready to contribute. So far... nothing, which is particularly disappointing given how little the players above him (Mumpfield, Whittington, Atwell) are producing.

Tim Keenan was a pick I liked, as I saw him as insurance for Poona Ford. Well, Poona's out, and Keenan's didn't make the team.

Perhaps, we'll see more from some of these players this year.
