Jay Feely started the 34-7 loss at Dallas in 2011. The snap-over-the-head Tony Romo game was 2007.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
Was there with about 12 college friends for my 40th birthday. Through a connection one of them had with StubHub we got upgraded to a luxury suite, access to the Owners Club for pregame, halftime and afterward (open bar, great food, incredible....). After the game we're all hanging out in there as some Cowboys' players and coaches file in. Very casual setting. I said F it and walked right up tby LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
Everyone talks about 1975, 1983 and now 2023 as their top Draft classes but 1980 shouldn't be overlooked. 4 quality, long-term starters and several short term role players.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
I'd prefer one of the top 3 Edge rushers at 19 too. I also hold out hope that Mitchell somehow slips to 19 because I'd take him there in a second. But a DT like Murphy or Newton, whether at 19 or after a trade back, certainly can't be dismissed. They have 1,500 snaps to backfill for between Donald and Williams leaving. The entire front 7 needs additional help- shorter and longer term. Edgby LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
One of my personal favorite 1980s Rams. One of those good-not-great players on some very good Rams' defenses. Probably among the top...75 (or so?) players in Rams' history? But certainly, trading those picks to move up from 20 to 9 for him is....debatable.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
I'm not moving back in the 1st round without getting a top 99 pick back. And from a trade value standpoint that's what the Rams should get. In this scenario the Rams should get #88 back from GB, not 126. #91 at minimum.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
They very well could draft a WR in the top three rounds who slots in as the WR4. But it would be more with an eye on someone who could have a much bigger role in 2025. Robinson is only on another one year deal and if Kupp has more injury issues they could move on from him then. So you're drafting a WR4 for 2024 but really more a WR3 for 2025 and beyond. Which is really how you're supposed toby LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
It's a good point. Hardly a premier player but not enough talk about needing to replace Williams (600 snaps last year), not just Donald, on the DL. That's why I don't dismiss at all the idea of taking Murphy or Newton. Ideally after a small move back but maybe that's greedy. Desjuan Johnson should take on a bigger role in 2024 too of course.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
Use him on passing downs (at DE or DT). Rushing only. Get him out of the base defense at OLB...by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
Could be right. Evans could very well emerge at least as a solid backup. I lean much more toward drafting a RB in the 5th or 6th rounds as well. Too much else is a priority and also good value in the top 100.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
I wouldn't complain about Murphy and Braswell at 19 and 52.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
I think it's a position you backfill every year in the Draft (outside the top 50 overall and mostly on day 3). With Williams starting and Rivers the RB2 they have a good combination but Evans seems very much TBD so adding competition with him is good. I did a mock yesterday where Jaylen Wright ended up their pick at 99 and I'd be OK with that too...by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
They need an Edge guy, no question, to team with Young and put Hoecht into more of a depth/situational role. But their 'needs' go well beyond that. The entire defensive front 7 needs bolstering. Edge, DT, DE. They have to approach it from the standpoint of finding the BPAs across that group, not just at Edge, or they could find themselves reaching.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
It's not a matter of them saying "we need to go get a DT to replace Donald in round one." But his departure, along with Jonah Williams leaving, creates a lot of snaps and production that needs to be backfilled. And guys like Desjuan Johnson can only be counted on so much to take on bigger roles. Personally, if they do take one of the top DTs (Murphy or Newton), I'd prefer it be afteby LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
Donald is of course impossible to "replace" per se. But on the Rams' DL it's more than him. Jonah Williams played almost 600 snaps a year ago. Not insignificant. He was a nice role player (49 tackles, 4 TFL, 2 sacks). Johnson should take on a much bigger role in 2024 but they still have a lot to fill on that DL rotation as a whole. Whether that includes a 1st round DT like Murphy orby LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
Agreed. He's pure depth and no guarantee to even get out of training camp. Bolstering the top-line future of the WR position will be totally unrelated.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
Johnson is really only a bottom of the roster guy. But he can play ST (137 snaps there w/ Tampa). I still think they will add a WR in the top 3 rounds- mainly with an eye on 2025. They could end up with a WR corp that is: Kupp Nacua Robinson Draft pick Skowronek Johnson And send Atwell somewhere for a 2025 6th rounder or something.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
Given the talent in this Draft and their core focus areas- Edge, CB, DT, WR and OL- moving up just isn't needed. I think a smallish (3-4 spots) trade back is far more likely.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
He's been a good-not-great TE for them for 8 years. Helped them reach two Super Bowls and win one. Hopefully he returns healthy in early November. Deserves some respect as a player. He's 9th all-time in receptions by a Ram- most by a TE. Should pass Woods for 8th this season. He has the top 3 receiving seasons by a Rams' TE (2022, 2021, 2019). And he's 14th in career receiving yards and 15thby LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
Darius Robinson, Adisa Isaac and Chris Braswell. I like all 3 but Isaac quite a bit.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
With Williams, White, Curl, Lake and Yeast. Now the questions are who else can they add at CB in the Draft and can they get Tomlinson able to take on a bigger, more consistent role. Depth of Durant, Kendrick (though not sure he makes it through final cuts) and Taylor.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
The 'pop' in his hands and strength, hands usage, etc. are good. High motor. A long way to go but I see him developing this year into a solid rotational piece. Like a Morgan Fox.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
My hope is that they maneuver on draft weekend to (a) add a 5th pick in the top 99 and (b) to turn those 5 selections in the 6th and 7th rounds into 3. Not sure how- package a couple to trade up into the 5th? Trade one for a veteran who's been displaced earlier in the Draft? But this current roster doesn't need seven day 3 selections and this Draft is apparently more shallow so not sure what willby LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
Yeah I like Desjuan Johnson a lot and think he will be a solid contributor in his 2nd year. Good strength, hands, balance. But he certainly does not preclude them from taking additional DL in the top 3 rounds. I think I'm in the minority around here in that, while I'd love one of the top 3 Edge guys at 19, I'd be really happy with Murphy or Newton (ideally after a small trade back).by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
I can't see the Rams even considering him unless he slipped- and I mean into the mid-40s (a trade up from 52?). Lots of experience and things to like about him (accuracy). But also true what was in that article about his "optimal conditions" (low pressure rate, open receivers, etc.). Like any of these QBs he needs work and development. Far from NFL (starter) ready.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
On offense it's really depth across the board for 2024 that they still need. A RB3, WR4/5 maybe, more OL depth, etc. The starting offense, other than perhaps a competition between Parkinson and Davis Allen at TE, is basically set. And on defense the secondary is mostly set for 2024 as well. Though there is certainly always opportunity to add more CB help and they should given questions aboutby LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
The 61 players will become 85 (picks plus UDFAs) after Draft weekend. I think they are in good shape given the holes they need to fill are dwindling. The White signing in no way precludes them from taking a CB in the top 3 rounds. In fact I hope they do. UDFA will have a harder time making this roster than in 2023. 7th round picks as well for that matter. As far as cap space, guys like Hoechtby LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
Excellent player. One year deal. By the time camp begins he will be 9.5 months post injury.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
If they move back I'd prefer not to go that far. Ideally just 3-4 spots. But of course depends on how it shakes out I suppose. I like Fiske and Kinchens as well. The Stanford or Arkansas kickers would make great sense in the 7th.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
