He didn't punt a lot, but when he did he did not pin them deep, he pretty much looked like he was directional kicking and losing yards as the balls went out of bounds. Was I the only one that noticed this? Am I wrong?by PeoriaRa - RamsFootballFans.com
I haven't seen the Rams team that goes 9-3 yet this season. I have seen glimpses of a defense that can do so, but they have been fleeting. And I have not yet seen an offense that can do it. The glimpses of a dominant offense have been very short-lived. A 9-3 team doesn't just barely squeak by the 0-7 Bengals.by PeoriaRa - RamsFootballFans.com
That move Kupp made on the sidelines on his first catch was sick. 90% of receivers just go out there - he added 15 yards with a nice little cut to the inside. The last throw by Goff was a thing of beauty. Kupp goes down smart a lot - missing the big hit. Bruce and Holt used to do this in the GSOT days. It is smart. For one important goal line play, when the game was on the line, I would absolutely put AD in the backfield. Then, when everyone was wondering what he was going to do and he has totally distracted the defense, I would give the ball to Gurley, who, BTW, is very good on short yardage goal to go plays.by PeoriaRa - RamsFootballFans.com
I'm lukewarm about this trade from a football perspective. From my point of view as an attentive but not particularly knowledgeable NFL fan, it seems that CBs have a tendency to fade quickly from dominance to mere competence. Remember "Revis Island?" He got paid and paid big, and two years later was just a pretty good CB making superstar money. There are certainly exceptions - Patriby PeoriaRa - RamsFootballFans.com
I know, I know, but I wanted to be honest. No one wants us to pull it all together more than I do. But something is off this year. D looked great early then the Bucs happened which is totally inexplicable to me. O has continued to score points while looking like a ghost of its former self. I think you can point directly at the O line on that one. And we don't have Gurley probably? I thouby PeoriaRa - RamsFootballFans.com

Last year at this time, our offense was really clicking on all cylinders. But our defense was not playing that well - kind of mediocre if I remember correctly. This year, our defense has been outstanding. But the offense is kind of mediocre (although still scoring 20+ per game.) When you win with defense, the games tend to be closer. That's a fact. So our games have been close, but allby PeoriaRa - RamsFootballFans.com
I don't blame regular fans when even the announcers get it wrong, but it is only a double reverse if the balls starts right, comes back to the left (like in this case) then comes back to the right again. (Which no one ever does because it is so slow developing it always loses yards.)by PeoriaRa - RamsFootballFans.com
When they hand the ball off heading one direction it is a sweep or an end around. When the person running the sweep hands the ball off to someone running the opposite direction its a reverse. It's only a double reverse when the ball changes direction one more time, going back in the original direction. And yes, the announcers on last night's game called it a double reverse and they shouldby PeoriaRa - RamsFootballFans.com
I taught my daughter to say along with me whenever Cris starts pontificating, which he does 80% of the time throughout the game, "shut up chris! No one loves you."by PeoriaRa - RamsFootballFans.com
Hey, I just meant that Hager looked bad to me in preseason, but the coaches believed in him and he is looking a lot better surrounded by starters. I was second guessing even keeping him on the roster.by PeoriaRa - RamsFootballFans.com

Purely anecdotal, but it seems like the Rams have been responsible for putting quite a few quality QBs on the injury list the last couple of years. And not because we play dirty.by PeoriaRa - RamsFootballFans.com
That was my thought - to overturn a call on the field it should either be "incontrovertible visual evidence" or "clear and obvious" that the call on the field was wrong. I thought this was neither. On the other hand, I'm not sure that one of the other WRs didn't block a defender in the back on the run after catch. So maybe caught a break there.by PeoriaRa - RamsFootballFans.com
I think it was Cooks who came in and made a block toward the end of the run that, at the time, I felt very well might have been an illegal block in the back. Anyone else see this? Kupp's moves and the stiff arm were sick, though. Just top notch. That is why Kupp was the only Rams receiver I took on my fantasy team.by PeoriaRa - RamsFootballFans.com
Exactly what I saw, and I was watching Allen and Demby pretty close later in the game. Both Allen and Demby looked BAD right away when he came in - maybe some coordination problems that they worked out later. Our OL is not an impenetrable wall but it does pretty good most of the time and there are some times when Goff seems to have plenty of time to throw.by PeoriaRa - RamsFootballFans.com
I think we need to give Edwards a look. Allen seemed to regress when Demby came in as well.by PeoriaRa - RamsFootballFans.com
After watching what McCaffrey did last week, I was worried/assuming that Kamara would do something similar. Instead the Rams came with a "I HATE to call it this" Patriots-style plan to take away the Saints top 2 playmakers, Kamara and Thomas. If they can beat us with Jared Cook, so be it. I don't know what the final stat lines for Kamara and Thomas were but my eyeballs said that thby PeoriaRa - RamsFootballFans.com

He made one nice return. But twice he fielded punts within the 10, one of them behind the 5, and returned it to the 9 or so. Let that go and there is a far better chance of starting at the 20. He looked smooth on his good return, and maybe this what he is being taught by Bones, but I just don't like his decision making on punts.by PeoriaRa - RamsFootballFans.com
Don't get me wrong. Blowing the whistle on that play was an unforgivable mistake. I can see where the guys in the NFCCG made the call they did on what looked like a bang bang play. This was less justifiable. There is no reason in that situation to blow the whistle when they did. But we won, again, and once again the story will be how the Saints got jobbed. Maybe there really is such a thiby PeoriaRa - RamsFootballFans.com
All the physical traits that you need to be a great receiving TE, but somehow he just can't seem to put it all together. Plus, he tends to make mistakes at the worst possible times. I got a big grin when I saw that the Saints had picked him up, and I laughed at the commentators who said that Cook would finally "put it all together" working with Drew Brees. Just to make the New Orleans Chokers/Megawhiners SHUT THE HELL UP. If they win comfortably, we will have to hear all freaking season "see, we were better all along!"by PeoriaRa - RamsFootballFans.com
I guarantee that OCs across the NFL are spending extra time analyzing this play and either planning to steal it or at least learn from it. Plus,it gives the Saints DC extra work to do preparing for the possibility that we run it against them. Creative play design is one of the real pleasures of NFL football.by PeoriaRa - RamsFootballFans.com
I think there may be a rule about giving yourself up, just for situations like this. Otherwise a team wanting to run out the clock could not touch a ball carrier indefinitely. I did think the exact same thing in the moment though.by PeoriaRa - RamsFootballFans.com
Of all the home games this season, this would be the worst to be 30-40% Saints fans. I want serious HFA! I want this game bad, and not just a win, but a blowout. If not a blowout, I want what someone else wrote about here, for the Rams to challenge an uncalled PI on the Saints and win the game using the new rule the New Orleans Chokers/MegWhiners wanted so badly.by PeoriaRa - RamsFootballFans.com
