I guess we had some good guys back in the early days, but we are definitely not a team knows for its great QBs. Now RBs, there we have struck it rich over and over.by RantoulRam - RamsFootballFans.com
I'm not an expert - just a fan - but Chop gives me vibes of another Robinson with great traits but little production - Greg Robinson.by RantoulRam - RamsFootballFans.com
And the best way to do that still seems to be film study, and judging a player according to their actual performance and not some vaporous thing called "high ceiling based on potential". In other words, they were so-so in college, and should have been better, but they are freak athletes or some such thing and could be coached up..... maybe.by RantoulRam - RamsFootballFans.com

I had no idea some truly great players were drafted so low!by RantoulRam - RamsFootballFans.com
Particularly interesting to see the traits of edge rushers they have drafted in the past.by RantoulRam - RamsFootballFans.com
Not sure why, but every year there is one guy who catches my attention and whom I want us to draft, regardless of how little it makes sense. He is from Iowa. Seems like Iowa players often succeed in the NFL. He is super versatile - could be played at either safety or CB. He returns punts and kicks - making him even more versatile. Thrives in zone, which is what we most often play.by RantoulRam - RamsFootballFans.com
Where did you have Kobie Turner last year? We got 1st round production from a 3rd round pick (two really). Hope that's because the FO has figured something out that they can replicate this year, and not just that we got lucky.by RantoulRam - RamsFootballFans.com
They have nothing to write about, so they write ( or in this case talk) about nothing. And we are so starved for content we get sucked in. I need to take a break until the draft gets underway. (Unless of course, the Rams make more moves.)by RantoulRam - RamsFootballFans.com
Ferragamo to Waddy as a youth. As an adult it has to be the tackle. I remember where I was standing what I was doing how I was freaking out as the Titans moved methodically down the field. After it happened I just sat there and soaked it in for an hour. I think I was hosting a party I don't remember when people left. I do remember that my ex-wife quietly cleaned up and just let me sit andby RantoulRam - RamsFootballFans.com
Don't love it. Too many good players available in the second round.by RantoulRam - RamsFootballFans.com
Thanks for the clipsby RantoulRam - RamsFootballFans.com
I'd be more inclined to go Edge then DT than the other way around, but it depends on how they like those players. I am nervous about Chop Robinson. We don't need another Greg Robinson who has all the tools but doesn't get production. Not saying this describes Chop, but I am nervous that it would.by RantoulRam - RamsFootballFans.com
But at least he did lead the lowly Cardinals to the Super Bowl.by RantoulRam - RamsFootballFans.com
I don't know if "penalties per snap played" is a stat, but if it were I think he would be very high up there. He's got skills. But I worry about his head.by RantoulRam - RamsFootballFans.com
What a frustrating rookie year. One minute he would make a great play - the next he would do something boneheaded that cost the team. Can we get the first without as much of the 2nd? Or is he a permanent bonehead?by RantoulRam - RamsFootballFans.com
What a good pickup, at least according to PFF grades.by RantoulRam - RamsFootballFans.com
I know he was a pretty good QB for a few years after he was drafted. But why was he still on his couch last year? I will always love him for leading the defeat of the 49ers last season. But that game - didn't he run more than he threw? For that game, he did what he needed to do to win. But if the running is what makes him good - well - we saw that he won't last more than a few games doingby RantoulRam - RamsFootballFans.com
Maybe we just hired a high-ceiling TE, after we let the Seahawks pay for that learning curve.by RantoulRam - RamsFootballFans.com
"I’ll note, despite questions this may not actually affect the injured Tyler Higbee in 2024, though could afterward. Higbee signed a two-year, $17 million extension last September and the Rams would incur $11 million in dead money if he were released. After 2024 that sum becomes more manageable, and the Rams do expect Higbee to return from ACL and MCL repair in-season."by RantoulRam - RamsFootballFans.com
??? Why are we spending money on TEs when we don't use them much in this offense? Why is this guy worth this much? Do they have a plan for him? I would say they probably do but they never seemed to have a plan for Tutu. I love our FO but, like Tutu, this one is a bit of a head scratcher.by RantoulRam - RamsFootballFans.com
But I think we really need a top CB. And I think they are harder to find. The question for all of them - which position is hardest to judge in the draft? Is it harder to project a pass rusher, CB or Center? If there is an 80% chance that the JPJ is the monster we hope he will be, but only a 60% chance that Mitchell lives up to expectations, that might change my judgment. Regardless, ifby RantoulRam - RamsFootballFans.com
Just saying, I'm a lot older.by RantoulRam - RamsFootballFans.com
But I don't see OT as a huge need this year. Plus I'm scarred from multiple terrible 1st round OTs. (Greg Robinson, Barron, etc.) I want a CB in the first round, to go with the pass rusher we get in FA. Then probably OL after that if we lose Shelton/Dotson or both.by RantoulRam - RamsFootballFans.com
But remember that they are the same team that gave us Tutu Atwell instead of Creed Humphrey. Still, last year's draft I think earns them general absolution on the Atwell blunder. The draft is never a sure thing, but holy cow did we do well last year!by RantoulRam - RamsFootballFans.com
Smith had some good stuff going on when he was with the Titans, leading to his head coaching job which has been less successful. But I would guess Ragone learned from him and we may be able to steal some ideas from that experience. Wasn't Smith particularly successful in the running game?by RantoulRam - RamsFootballFans.com
There should be at least two Edge guys and two CBs on that list. We're not going to spend big on a FA safety or TE. Seriously? This is a rough time of year for football news and analysis. I do agree, though, that Brian Burns seems likely to be a top target for the Ramsby RantoulRam - RamsFootballFans.com
Was he better than Rypien? Absolutely! But that is a REALLY low bar to hurdle. I love the guy for leading us to a win over San Fran and he did a lot of good in that game. But he also ran 17 TIMES! If you need a guy for 1-2 games, then great, bring him on. He brings that running ability, which no one prepares for when they are prepping for Stafford. But if you need him for more than thaby RantoulRam - RamsFootballFans.com
