The guy moving to Texas, and thus causing the band breakup, got bad news from the contractor building his new home in Texas - it will be delayed. So rather than us ending this fall we now will at least be available until July 2023. I just found out about this, and I'm not excited about it. :laughing I had moved on, mentally... and was actually looking forward to reviving an older bandby JamesJM - Bucky's Pub
about Lead Singers that is. In all the years I played we didn't have to search for a lead singer often, maybe 3 or 4 times, but when we did my experience with lead singers miimic's your experience. They are not normal. :laughing If I had to choose one word to define them it would be 'demanding'. Being 'demanding' didn't fly well with us so the few lead singers we brought in didn't last loby JamesJM - Bucky's Pub
I played with them, (not as a member), a few times and only jam sessions. They were friends with some of the members of "The Roadrunners" some of whom I knew pretty well. Roadrunners had a couple hits as well but never really made it. Unfortunately I don't remember much about it. :laughing Seems we met to jam in the town of Hanford? Maybe Visalia? I can't even remember that. Iby JamesJM - Bucky's Pub
Well, I deleted this entire message because apparently it's not a 7 on 7 today... and actually I don't know what it is. Yes it's De Le Salle... but a game? Not sure.by JamesJM - Bucky's Pub
that most here will think I'm talking out of my ass... bit I'm not... it's true... people in Kerman, Ca. (many of them), commute to the Bay area for work. I can't wrap my mind around that.by JamesJM - Bucky's Pub
That surprised you, no? :laughing You seem to have a lot of well known and very good musicians in and around your area! Same here... but not nearly as many today as 'back in the day'.. meaning 70's and 80's. and probably in the 60's. I like to tell my grandkids stories about playing with, (mostly in practices), some groups that made it. The Association.. yeah, you'll have to look themby JamesJM - Bucky's Pub
I simply don't get it. BUT... I understand things are weird and different today. What I'm NOT doing is saying people who do these long commutes are 'dumb'... I get it that today it's necessary. I'm just saying WOW.. this is progress?by JamesJM - Bucky's Pub
you were completely out of your mind. No offense. I need to work on this but I believe the evidence is quite clear than you ocean going sea people are an extraordinary level of stupid. I would have said 'ignorant' but in this case I think 'stupid' apples. There are things in the ocean that don't want YOU in there with them. - JamesJMby JamesJM - Bucky's Pub
I did know that. Probably wouldn't have 'occurred' to me but yes... I know him. Not long ago, very recently? I asked of you about Tulare and their contribution to truly notable Tulare Athletes, (well, that area), this is exactly what I was referring too. I think Tulare has MORE than contributed in sports. Whereas with Kerman, let alone Tranquillity, we're awaiting our first. :laughinby JamesJM - RamsFootballFans.com
you are NOT normal. :laughing For me - - - there is nothing on land that I wouldn't rather face than something in the sea. I can move on land... which certainly wouldn't be enough but it's something... in the ocean? I can't do a blessed thing. I point this this out to simply let you know, as a friend, that you're out of your frikken' mind. :laughingby JamesJM - Bucky's Pub
it's been what? Minutes? Since I posted that my band retires this year at my nieces wedding/ Well, things change. The reason we're ending is because our Lead Guitar player is moving to Texas... BUT.. originally timed to move late this year NOW it's been rescheduled for summer of 2023. This is breaking news. I found out yesterday. So NOW... our last gig probably will NOT be my nieces weby JamesJM - Bucky's Pub
as 'gravy'.... very, Very, VERY good gravy.... but I think we can repeat without him. Which brings up... should OBJ be signed, (and I think he will be), managing that plethora of talent is daunting. I'm not sure how you do it, to be honest.by JamesJM - RamsFootballFans.com
But not only do I love that guy - - I also 'intuit' that I'd have loved the guy had I met him.by JamesJM - Bucky's Pub
and I'm sure you know this... he was adopted by the entire central valley as a "home Town Hero"... BUT... with due respect to Tulare. A lot like Josh Allen today... although, not sure Josh's esteem stretches to Tulare? I think it probably does but I'm just not sure. Probably must since he played in Reedley? Holding the 1948 London Olympic Torch. When England hosted the Olympics in 2012 they brought this 'original' torch out and toured the country with it as a prelude to the 2012 games.... I just happened to be in England at the time and also just happened to be in a small town where it was taken and displayed. I am quite literally dumbfounded by how far some commute to work. There is, make that WAS, a small farming community about an hour from me that somewhat recently became a mecca for those working in the Bay area, (around San Francisco).... no one can afford housing there anymore... at least no one who isn't a tech billionaire. SO... they commute... how far you ask? Well, no, you didn't... bby JamesJM - Bucky's Pub
I remember it was a lot "LESS" than I would have thought - BUT... it's one of those things you have to experience. I can say this.. uphill they can go faster than you or I. :laughing In a flat sprint no, BUT... factor in the shock of having a slinky snake coming after your ass and chances are you're about to be bitten.by JamesJM - Bucky's Pub
It began with a breakdown this morning. No need to go into it... it's was an expensive breakdown. That was followed by another breakdown, then a letdown, then bad news, more bad news, and yet more bad news. Again... no need to list it all. Point is: It's one of those days. I know bad things don't really come in groups BUT... they do. Grown wise in my old age and I know this to be true...by JamesJM - Bucky's Pub
I come across them on my ranch every so often... not common to see them however. The are AMAZING: Not on my ranch but rather a hunting ranch in the Coast Range of Calif. we used to lease I was traveling up a ridge one afternoon when suddenly I mostly 'heard' but did get a glimpse of something moving through the wild oats on the hillside. It got my attention because while at first I couldn'tby JamesJM - Bucky's Pub
it's on the O'line I have been most impressed. Getting old here.. so correct me if I have dates wrong... but wasn't it just two years ago that we, (all of us including me), were in complete panic because the O'line had severe problems and exacerbated by the fact that most of us thought they did nothing to address the issue... and then... it worked!by JamesJM - RamsFootballFans.com
it depend, of course, on how one interprets that. I take it to mean, (and this is probably in error), a very limited player in what he can do on the field without consideration that said 'niche' could be a vital component of the offense. IOW... perhaps not often used but absolutely necessary to be hitting on all cylinders. I think Tutu could be, (we don't know yet), more than 'just' that. - Jaby JamesJM - RamsFootballFans.com
Steve will get it... the rest of you will try but no... you can't. Oct. 8th I will play my last gig in a band. Our lead guitar player is moving to Texas.... Panoche Creek, (my band), ends... on a very good event... my nieces wedding. I've been in a band since 1964....two years off while in the Army but even then I played trumpet for the Army band. so much so that I can't say for SURE but do believe that the following only pertains to me: Like everyone else his size worried/worries me BUT... I doubt it. :laughing Geez, I'm been at this now, (on this board or it's predecessors), for..... maybe 25 years now? What a ride... not sure when it started but it was the latter part of the horrendous 90's for me. I think today the only current posters with more tenure on this board than I are Ramsrule, ScRAM, and Aries? Might have forgotten someone else. In a thread below you guys were referring to 'getting tired these days'. As you know I was a farmer, (still am just retired). I worked exhausting days... during harvest it was normal to put in 19 hours, (sometimes 48 hours+) in a day and that 7 days a week for a couple of months. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, was "on the go"... no time to stop and eat. Today... I began a video sby JamesJM - Bucky's Pub
