I think Kiser will be a better ILB than Hager/Reeder in 2019. Maybe that's not saying a lot but if he is- and the guys in front of and behind him are playing well- that's just fine.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
A 4th round comp pick would have to be for a contract at or above $10M/year. If the Rams do let Johnson go then a 4th- and even possibly a 3rd- should come their way. Reynolds? Maybe a 7th. Maybe. Not a criticism of him but just a reality of the market (and how compensatory picks are weighted).by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
To land a 4th round comp. pick Reynolds would have to get a contract from someone in the ballpark of $10M/year.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
I think in even today's NFL if your QB is throwing 600+ times you're no doing well- either offensively, defensively (giving up way too many points), or both. Goff had 626 attempts and 22 sacks in 2019. And I'm sure at least half his 33 rush attempts were actually pass plays so call it roughly 665 pass plays called. 41 per game. They need better balance than that. Somewhere between where theyby LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
I think obviously Reynolds will end up elsewhere in 2021. Whether he in fact gets signed to be a starter somewhere is very much TBD. Hope he does, seems like a good kid. But if the Draft is deep again at WR he may just be brought in as a WR3 or WR4 somewhere. Anyway, my main point is I definitely wouldn't trade him. As good as the early returns apparently are on Jefferson does he know the offby LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
To this point I have assumed Ramsey and Hill mainly will man the outside with Williams in the slot. I like Long a lot but have also assumed he's really a pure outside corner. Maybe I'm wrong. But thinking more about it maybe he could still win the nickel job but simply play outside in those sets (with Hill sliding inside or Ramsey- who will follow opponents' WR1- going inside sometimes). My impression of her is she takes her job very seriously and professionally. The 11 Personnel podcast she's taken over (still with Rich Hammond) gives some very good insights. In the most recent podcast where she talked about believing the defense was very, very good she did preface it by saying she was not trying to be a homer or come across as an expert but that from seeing other NFL defenses uby LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
I would guess their 3rd home game in late October vs Chicago could be a viable possibility. By then hopefully not only are numbers more favorable in CA but that by then other teams and sports have started introducing some fans and they can get a sense for how to do it well and what the smart capacity could be. A MNF game would be a nice night for letting some fans attend.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
The sense I got from her most recent 11 Personnel podcast was that the offense was not quite as far along for several reasons- one, she thinks the defense is very, very good. Potentially really good... Two, they are mostly not going full speed. Three, the defense knows their formations and plays pretty well. And four, the offense is experimenting with various things. Anyway, that was the gist I tby LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
I am personally not sure but Im also not there. To me it is less a surprise to see Corbett starting as it was expected all along he, Evans and Edwards would be fighting for two spots. Noteboom is the surprise for sure. I do think Blythe at C is better than Allen, yes. By a good margin. In the end IF Edwards and Evans are the 6th and 7th OL then we can also see it as the Rams enter the seasby LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
From Jourdan R. and Rich H. I believe this was recorded day before the scrimmage since they did not comment on it or Henderson getting injured. Terrell Lewis is shockingly big and impressive. Teamed on one side with Donald could be unfair... Jourdan thinks Rams may have crushed this rookie draft class.... ILB largely Kiser and Howard with the 1s. It will be hard to pay Ramsey, Kupp AND Johnson, so that's probably likely. I wonder if possibly franchising him for 2021 might be a consideration ($11.44M for safeties in 2020). Very true that the organization is good at finding and developing DBs. But Johnson leaving in 2021 likely nets them a 4th (possibly even 3rd) round comp. pick in 2022 which is also obviously another part of their talentby LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
He was one of 2 or 3 guys I really hoped would slip to the Rams at #44 that year. Of course, they ended up with Johnson at #91 so... Bar is set for Johnson if he has a really good 2020 season.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
Honestly, part of it might just be there is simply no one beyond the top 5 worth keeping on the 55. Could mean they keep one on the PS because they feel, for example, Xavier Jones might get poached if they don't keep him. Or maybe they will explore the waiver wire at final cuts to bring in a WR6 from elsewhere.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
Yellow pants with the blue jerseys is so much better. I think yellow pants with the bone jerseys make that combo much better too.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
I think a lot is still up in the air with the OL- both individually (who starts) and as a group (how/when they mesh). Both important. As far as the running game goes I think Havenstein and Blythe are two critical components. As pointed out, Havenstein has always been a stronger run blocker than pass blocker and his ability to get back to 2017 and 2018 (and 2015) form is critical. With Blythe,by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
I would bet that both Reynolds and Jefferson see a decent amount of reps early in the season in different situations. Jefferson will need more time to really master the playbook. I think by week 9 or 10 Jefferson is entrenched as the WR3.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
But realistically guys like Lawler, Polite and Patrick are competing for ST spots more than OLB spots. Those last 2-3 ST spots will go to the best players there (almost) regardless of position. I could see one of those three sticking on the 55.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
Agree. lessened I think. In Noteboom's case I still think he is the primary backup at LT so in essence he still is working two spots. One thing I wonder is if Corbett will get work as backup center. Really would be interested to hear something more in depth from people like Jourdan R. about Edwards and Evans.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
Cautious optimism is always good... I never saw any reason Noteboom would not be ready for camp. I've said this several times but Kupp hurt his knee a month later in 2018 than Noteboom did in 2019 and yet Kupp was not only full-go ready for camp last year but was very active in OTAs that May/June. So for Noteboom to be where he is physically now should not be a surprise. I don't have a horseby LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
True. And I think coaches also often deserve perspective based on teams they are developing. A 6-10 or 7-9 season can be good if you are taking over a dumpster fire (case in point Jeff Fisher in 2012 and 2013, actually...). And Vermeil did a good job developing the Eagles even before their 1980 run. Though in St. Louis he didn't elevate the Rams from their 1990-96 status, it simply continued twoby LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
I like Edwards but maybe, give the bizarre offseason, he just needs more time. Or maybe we will see him with the starting unit in the next couple days. Who knows. Plus, assuming Noteboom is at least one of the top 2 backups, they want him getting work at multiple spots including LG. I agree Havenstein is more of a lynch pin to this OL than any mentioned above. If he is back to what he was inby LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
If I try to look at these guys objectively Vermeil is not the top of the list. First of all I had to look up who Buddy Parker was. He did win two NFL titles (in Detroit of all places) but also only had .600 or better teams 8 times in 15 years. But anyway. Flores' career win percentage is only .527 but his 'prime' with the Raiders (1980-85) was as good a 6-year stretch as almost anyone has everby LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
You both make good points- (1) if the coaches see him as one of the two best OGs then that's what it is. Though it's also very early and they are likely still trying various combinations. But also (2) he was not very good at LG last year and seems much more natural at tackle. My assumption had been that the 6th man would be whichever of Edwards, Evans and Corbett did not win a starting OG spoby LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
Hopkins really is in a perfect spot. Not only on a team with a dynamic offense and coaching but that as a rookie he is not expected to be anything more than TE4 and simply develop for a larger role in 2021.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com

I am not surprised at all he's out there given his ACL injury was a month earlier in the season than Kupp's was in 2018. And Kupp was a full-go in OTAs last May and in camp. If nothing else Noteboom should be motivated as he's really in a contract year. They do not have to pick up his 4th year in 2021. His cap for next year is $1.125M and they would save $920k without him. He absolutely has toby LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
My bet is zero for the first two games. And since they are on the road 4 of their first 6 games they can try to target 10/26 vs. Chicago for having some capacity. Next home game after that is 11/15 vs. Seattle. So having a schedule back-loaded with home dates might be beneficial for them in that regard. Maybe.by LMU93 - RamsFootballFans.com
