QuoteAlden Gonzalez@Alden_Gonzalez Aaron Donald's new deal ranks 10th with an average salary of $22.5M. The only ones ahead of him are QBs. He'll get about $3.5M more per year than Von Miller got two summers ago. The question with Donald wasn't really if he would top Miller, but by how much. QuoteRinconRam Forgive my stupidity, but if you don't get a signing bonus WHEN YOU SIGN what's the purpose of a signing bonus? Quotejemach You've gotta be kidding me? Largest contract and signing bonus for a defensive player...easily in history. 6 years...not 5...not 4... And I'm saying this about these deals...they won't look so high in 3 years. The metrics on what Donald should have gotten put him at around 23-24 M. Quotemax Only thing that surprised me somewhat was the 6 years. I was thinking 4-5. I was told 5 years at 72.5M guaranteed. That connects with 6 years at 87M. Still, the 22.5 was right on the mark. QuoteLMU93 Not worried at all about 2019 and 2020. 2021 will become tricky as that would be the year an extension for Goff kicks in. That could be a year where they have to rely more on lower priced/young players around their core. But SO MUCH is in flux and TBD by then- player performance, cap growth, the new CBA, etc. that I'm just not worried. The cap is supposed to be 220 M or more in 2021.by zn - RamsFootballFans.com

Don’t know next year’s AD cap number yet, but even after subtracting Donald’s $22.5m AAV from that figure, the Rams would have more cap room in 2019 than 20 NFL teams.
