I am not vegetarian or vegan
but I am cutting down on meat products and as mentioned .....eat maybe fish or chicken 2 times a week....down from like 6 which included beef
I rarely eat processed foods and eat a good portion of my produce grown from my garden or my mother in laws.
I think it is extreme to go completely vegetarian and more so vegan.....my wife is more vegan. I think its ridiculous to think those buying Beyond Meat are vegetarians, but more likely people who want a healthier choice or dont want to kill animals.
I also drink things like soy milk and coconut milk instead of milk and eat non dairy fake sour cream and often non dairy cheese, but I am far from vegan
I do think California is a pretty healthy state....I have a lot of family in the great state of Texas and the differences when you go to restaurants, fast food and grocery are pretty extreme IMHO....
I am just trying to eat healthier as I am getting older.....not Beyond meat but more veggies, less processed food and I am gluten free (have to be)
I used to love nothing better than a nicely grilled (by me) ribeye.
Now? For meat, mostly chicken and fish. Veggies in the thousands.
I wish I could grow veggies like you but my property isn't set up right for it. The back is all shaded woods and I have an okay patch of sun in the front facing southeast, but I don't want to plant veggies in front of the house. It's all perennials.
