On a couple of songs but the recordings weren't used for the release of those songs. The were re-recorded in Nashville.
Actually we recorded a few but I can only remember two. One of them is in that video above - "Six Good Reasons". Another was:
A tune called "Seein' a Stranger". On this one Floyd was somewhat straying from his "Western" theme and he wanted a drummer who was familiar with jazz/blues... so I sat in and Floyd sent my drum beat to Nashville. In Nashville it was re-recored and when it came out I was very surprised to hear that they followed my drum-line almost to a tee, even the fills. I couldn't find a YouTube of the song but if you look it up and listen to it on iTune or Amazon music that is NOT ME playing the drums.
It's a VERY straight forward beat...easy, which is what Floyd wanted.
Ok.. about this video. This was recorded in Japan. About the same time I visited Floyd in Japan. I love this video, and this song... BUT... ya gotta know the background. This was never meant as an 'official' video for his albums... which is why I like it. The best way to describe it is that it's a "Japanese Garage Band".... these are local musicians, friends of his. All the background characters are friends of his. This was recorded on a beach very near where my son lived... we visited this beach often. Also - it was impromptu - they didn't get 'permission' so many of the people on the beach that day had no idea what was going on.
People in the background just joined in not knowing Floyd or what he was doing. If you look closely you can see some 'stunned faces' looking on.
