I was just a little kid then, don't remember the exact age when it happened. . .
My uncle had his army memorabilia from the Korean War in our attic in his trunk. . I went up one day and checked it out. Inside, along with uniforms and medals. . . was a package filled with photographs.
I opened it. . . and seemed pretty cool showing him and his buddies in his platoon, dressed in full weaponry. As I went through the stack of photos. .. it happened.
Staring me in the face was a picture of three N. Korean severed heads impaled on stakes. Scared the crap out of me. I threw the photos in the trunk slammed the door shut. . . and I never returned to the attic.
Looking back, it reminds me of a horror flick where the kids go into the attic and a skeleton of their late grandfather pops down on them.
