As I've said before, about Cary...

IMHO he's the very definition of "Movie Star". The man exudes 'celebrity' simply by his presence on screen. He may be King, it's debatable... but there are others in the running.

Clark Gable. Olivia De Havilland. Just to name two. Olivia... that 'wink' in the movie "The Strawberry Blonde" melted me. laughing smiley Most stunning of all... her co-star in the movie was Rita Hayworth... just possibly the most beautiful woman that ever lived... and yet in this movie Olivia not only held her own but actually turned my eye from Rita.. I didn't think that was possible. laughing smiley

Another that I'm going to mention that I never 'got'... Bette Davis. I honestly can't think of ever really liking her in any performance. I didn't think she was 'bad', by any means... but her 'celebrity' was and remains a mystery to me. I blame that on "ME", by the way... not her. For some reason she just never got thru to me.
