on many news outlets that, for example (because there are many) one guy alone bought 17,700 bottles of hand sanitizer.. he drove from store to store and bought them out - across several states - with the intention of creating a shortage, then price gouging on ebay and amazon.. In one day he made $40K.. he stated that he'd pay $2.99 for a bottle and sell them immediately for $125, taking advantage of the panic.. From what I hear, he's been shut down..
But, there were hundreds of other morons who did the same thing.. which is why there's a national shortage on sanitizer.. and probably toilet paper and other stuff.. On ebay right now there's a listing for 8 oz Purell for $59 plus $35 shipping.. so, with tax, over $100.. I desperately wanted to contact hm and tell call him every name in the book, but resisted.. I did try to report the listing, but there's no ebay option to report gouging...
