But I think I got the 'joke' part of it...and was referring more to this:
"No what I was referring to was specifically the moneys that come in directly associated with the monarchy"... or maybe I'm missing this as well?
I don't think those 'drawing cards' you listed would change a bit, as far as drawing tourists, whether the Monarchy was existent or not.
I'm not into the Royal's, as you know... but I wouldn't use the word 'quaint' in reference to them, or more specifically their 'history'... because it's just that... 'history'... no different than any other historical fact be it England, Germany, France, Brunei or Tonga.
BUT... with that said... absolutely I know that for some a living, breathing, actual "Queen" does have fascination for many... I live with one who is that way.
