our winters are, or were, known for fog. Not snow, nor much rain, nor even very cold temps. Back in the day it was common to go a month without seeing the sun. And I'm talking about fog so thick that you could NOT see the white lines on the roads... and that's no exaggeration. 21Dog can confirm.
Note: We still get fog every winter, somewhat... but nothing like it used to be. This year we haven't had a fog as bad as I describe above BUT it got close a few times, if only for a short time. - JamesJM
