Even the ancient ones that still had an ink well holder.... and no, ink wells were long gone by my era.
Here's the amazing things about those school desks with the flip up desktop and storage space underneath... from the outside you would think they could hold but a few items.... but that's an optical illusion. At year end when we had to clean our desks out the amount of junk one had stored up during the year could fill a dump truck.
