..and actually have several local friends fighting over who gets to buy 'em, but haven't had 8 tracks in decades.. I won't sell this LP, tho.. I have it and Judas Priest Sad Wings of Destiny signed by the whole band, thanking me for driving them around town when they played here in '77 or '78..
The story with the Queen LP is that we were there to see them and Lizzy in Dallas.. we had heard Queen was doing an in-store appearance at Peaches Records, so we went there and, to avoid the rush, went ahead and bought Queen LPs.. I made the mistake of opening mine.. then Thin Lizzy showed up - not Queen - and hey wouldn't let me return the LP.. So I BEGGED Phil Lynott and Gary Moore (who was filling in for Brian Robertson due to injury) to sign my LP and explained the situation.. I was 16 years old and no money for another LP, but they wouldn't sign it - total jerks..
Scott Gorham was MEGA cool and signed it, as well as Brian Downey.. I talked with Scott for about ten minutes - he asked where I was from - Wichit aFalls - and he got it confused with Wichita Kansas and said they just played there.. I jut laughed.. Good times..
Friendship is like peeing your pants.. Everybody can see it, but only you can feel the warmth..
