laid out the case that the Beatles would not have become NEARLY as popular as they did had they not gotten Ringo in the band.. Not only because of his drumming, but because he actually became the face of the Beatles.. I mean, you mention the Beatles to just about anyone and everyone knows Ringo..
I think the song that solidifies his style and presence to me would be "Ticket to Ride" with that - and I don't even know what to call it - offbeat beat he gave to it.. Simple, but, imo, just brilliant.. That was one of the tunes that really stood out to me when we saw the tribute band - which was named Rain, by the way..
