I am an avid reader... but I was late to the printed page.... not really becoming 'avid' until I was in the Army, around 21 years of age.
And it's odd because... I had read a few novels before my army days that I truly loved... this one towards the top of my all time favorite novel reading list.
I think what killed reading for me, (sure of it actually), was being forced to read "Silas Marner" in High School... I detested that novel. Be interesting to read it again today because my guess is that I'd like it, perhaps love it.
Back to Call Of The Wild... it's the only book I ever read aloud, this to my oldest grandson. At least it's the only one I ever read aloud from cover to cover.
