Physically my home town has changed little. Nearly every old building from my youth is still here... with a very few exceptions. So it's not the 'look' of my home town that is missing... it's the heart of what it once was.
Most of the original families that built my home town have left town.... very few are left. Local social get togethers... Coffee at the hardware store, again at the cotton gins, are very rare whereas in days of old they were daily and without fail.
So there still exists all the visual aspects that spur memories... it's the people that are gone... and with them.... the 'pioneer spirt'. - JamesJM
