This just came to mind....

back in the late 70's and thru the 80's I used to break a lot of sticks. I used to sign them and then hand them out to people. I never kept one for myself.... and I got to wondering if any of them are still around?

About breaking sticks... not sure if I've backed off or they're just making better and tougher sticks but I rarely break a drumstick these days. I used to ONLY use nylon tips... which had a tendency to fly off and nail someone in the audience. These days I use both nylon and wood but I haven't had a nylon tip fly off in years... maybe they're using better glue now?

Got a gig coming up... big one.... sometime in early Oct, I think? Mondavi Winery again... the ranch... somewhat near San Luis Obispo. Think the last time we played there was 10 years ago? Maybe not quite that long ago... anyway... that guy has a nice house... WOW. - JamesJM
