Came to me this past week, while in Colorado. It's Fly-Fishing... I have never done it. Well... yes I have, but only - 'make-believe'... in places here, near home, where you do NOT fly fish.. I was just pretending. It was great.
In Colorado I watched, and talked, to a few standing in the most beautiful flowing creeks I've ever seen... fly-fishing. I want to do it. I couldn't care less if I catch anything... well, yes I do, I want to catch at least one... BUT.. mostly I just want to stand in a creek in the Rockies, in waders, with a wicker fishing basket, and forget all of you, (no offense), all of TV, Movies, even.. yes, dare I say it... music... just me and nature. Well, and my grandkids... but ONLY if they give fly-fishing the respect and awe it deserves.
I saw that move with Brad Pitt.. what's the name of it? "A River Runs Through It"... just looked it up on IMDB. I haven't got a CLUE what that movie was about.. seriously... BUT... I can remember the fly-fishing scenes, and I remember them perfectly. I think there was a 'plot'... but I'm not sure, unless the plot was 'fly-fishing'.
I do NOT want an iPhone, or iPod, or any other music device while I'm fly-fishing... won't have it. I don't want a beer, or a cigar, or any contact with the outside world what-so-ever. I do want warm waders.
I would like a tiny view, very tiny, of the 'outside world' so I can scoff.... I think I would enjoy scoffing at the outside world. Or then again, I don't care.
Like to have Rambeau beside me... in some single leg waders.
He and I would seldom speak but when we did it would be about the Rams... but only briefly... then we'd simply go back to casting and trying to outdo each other in catching trout.
yup, now THAT is a bucket list item. - JamesJM
