When I w working as a sportswriter, a local organization (Friendly House) that serves lesser privileged kids in town held a "pro" wrestling card as a benefit fund raiser. Because of that, I made mention of the up and coming matches to help them out.
I even attended. . . and here's where it got weird.
During a break between matches, I decided to exercise my press privilege to go in the back room. And there were two of the wrestlers on the card, carrying on a conversation the same way I would be with anyone here. In public they were sworn enemies. I exposed them (LOL).
And here's where it got nasty. One of the wrestlers rose from his chair and shoved me into the door. . . not violently, but enough to send a message. Needless to say, I got the hell out of there.
My first and last experience with a "pro" wrestler.
