not the big guys, like NASCAR, or INDY, or F1, where they have telemetry and computers to keep track but those local announcers, (scorers), at small tracks around the country.
Watching from the stands on short tracks I'll know who perhaps the top 5 running cars are but once cars start getting lapped, or pit stopping for a quick repair, NO CHANCE IN HELL can I keep track of the running order AND YET the announcers are on top of it. During cautions they'll almost instantly set the field in order for the restart.. this sometimes taking no more than 2 or 3 laps. HOW? I KNOW they don't have a individual scorers responsible for one specific car so how in the HELL do they do it? - JamesJM
