Lets see, not many, in the USA. I can think of only two. Olympia in Tacoma, Wa. Anheuser down in I think Van Nuys? I have been in a few micro-breweries.
In Germany every third house was a brewery, I think.
A common refrain from those who have been to breweries is that the beer there is better than it is after it hits the stores. I have found this to be true BUT.... most likely some 'mental' stuff going on there. Like food in the mountains, it's ALWAYS better in the mountains.
