I don't recall that scene at all. I have the whole Lonesome Dove Series in my video collection but it's been a few years since I've watched it. Here they are in chronological order.

1. Dead Mans Walk (1996) - set in the early 1840s
2. Comanche Moon (2008) - set in the 1850–60s.
3. Lonesome Dove (1989) - set in mid-to-late 1870s
4. Return to Lonesome Dove (1993) - set in mid-to-late 1880s
5. Streets of Laredo (1995) - set in the early 1890s
