I have heard that many, about it's accuracy.... ever since it was released. I was in the Army at the time which means: Lot of the old time guys, Officers and NCO's, picked at every detail and they found several errors.. not so much about the battle but rather incorrect insignia's.. on uniforms, planes, etc. BUT... their consensus was: YES, it's the most accurate movie they had ever seen.
Was at that time, anyway.
Another movie that got "RAVE" reviews for it's accuracy, in every detail.. is an 'oldie'... "Thirty Seconds Over Tokyo".... can't remember if you have said that you've seen it but if you haven't DO SO... it's a must.
