I think that has more to do with their gender and age. My wife is always hot -in the middle of winter its very common in our home for me to wake up with all the blankets and sheets to be rumpled up on the floor. "Its too hot in here" even though the doors and windows have been opened to the screens. My dog is the same and she's a female-obviously.
