So for me Batman Superman Wonder Woman those are classics and a shame that Warner’s stumbled on getting those stories out via live action.

Although I really like Man of Steel and will never understand the vitriol that movie caused for fans of SM. If you are only a fan of Marvel and root for one studio to do better than another then I guess I get it but I don’t really understand why people do that.

SM was a great blend of a sci-fi movie to begin with and then became this over the top battleground in metropolis. Hardly something we haven’t seen in the Avenger movies.

I agree with you on Justice League. And obviously so did Warners.

Warners DC just need to worry about developing their characters. Don’t worry about Marvel. They seem to be doing that now

I can’t wait for Disney to do the Fantastic Four!

The criticism of Man of Steel does not come from Marvel-oriented fans. It was seen as being a thoughtless film in a lot of ways, and that's from the majority, whether they care about Marvel or not. I have never seen or encountered this pro-Marvel attitude which rejects DC films because they are DC. The problem with Warner's worst DC films is that they have a very poor sense of how to make those stories work. There are exceptions of course like Wonder Woman. As a rule, if you see a comic book superhero film work, it's because of the choice of director. The choice for Wonder Woman was inspired. In contrast Zac Snyder just did not know what to do with that material. The advantage Marvel/Disney has is scouting directors. The superficial thing with hiring Snyder was, he's a blockbuster guy, and that's what we want, a blockbuster guy. In contrast, the best of these films, including Wonder Woman and the Winter Soldier and Black Panther, worked because the director was an inspired choice. That's equally true of non-Disney Marvel material. Raimi's Spiderman is a good film and so are Singer's 2 X-Men movies. When Singer left the X-Men, that franchise fell into famously bad disrepair (till Logan.)

I have my doubts btw about whether or not the Fantastic Four can ever really work on the big screen.
