We picked Juneau up last night after 3 days in the hospital so she is back home. She was so happy to get out of there. She is an odd little dog. Her idea of affection is allowing YOU to pet her, but she doesn't show affection in return. So it surprised me when she jumped from the back seat of the car to the front and sat on my lap all the way home (she has never ever done that) and then started licking my hand (she's not a licker at all). When we walked into the house you could just tell that she was glad to be home. Only thing is, she absolutely refuses to eat the bland, canned dog food they sent home with her. She wouldn't eat it at the hospital either. No amount of coaxing or trying to hide it in things will get her to even taste the stuff. She prefers my meatballs which I roll in a probiotic powder first as it helps in healing her gut. The vet said it will take a few days for her to eventually poop. I'm just hoping that when it's time for her to go back to her regular dry dog food that she'll eat it and not insist on a diet of meatballs!
