I can't believe you know Badger Pass. I absolutely LOVE Badger pass. Although.. they have somewhat muffled the old 'nordic skiing ambience' that it was built on.
Badger Pass was actually the last place I went skiing. I don't think there is a better place to 'learn' skiing, or boarding, than at Badger. All my grandkids learned at Badger.. they now choose China, of course... more 'kids' and that youthful atmosphere.
My neighbor, Darcy, is about 6 years older than I am. In the 60's, 70's, 80's, Darcy and I would get up and head out, about 4:30am.... bota bags in tow headed to Badger at least a half dozen times per year.
I quit going to Badger for several years and chose China because of the Black Diamond runs... so it was some years between my trips to Badger and then teaching my grandkids at Badger... and I remember my first trip "back", grandkids on hand, and CURSING myself for having neglected it for so long.
They say you should live your life without regrets. Well... maybe... but I didn't, and don't... I have thousands of them. And right at the top of my list was NOT skiing cross country to the top of Glacier Point. I think that would have been a most cherished memory. - JamesJM
