hopefully they repaired it well enough that it's safe now...HOWEVER... that entire levee... some 3 miles of it, was put in in the 20's.. it's old. As I said last year MOST of the reinforcement of the levee was done by us, (My Dad's Farm)... there are so many vintage cars lining that levee bank, (under the dirt), that I lost count.. plus tons of concrete, tin... anything that was torn down in this area we used to haul to the levee and add to the bank to reinforce it.
I imagine one day it will go.... BUT.... there are many areas upstream every bit as old and as weak... so if it ever gets bad enough to take out the levee most likely it will be flooding in areas far upstream of my home... relieving a lot of the pressure here. - JamesJM
