My wife worked on the Lunar Module project for Apollo 13. At that time in her life she was on a team of aeronautical engineers out of TRW Systems in Redondo Beach, Calif. Her responsibilities focused on the thruster rockets designed to carefully guide the LEM to the surface of the moon. In doing so most all engineers used slide rules for their calculations. If you go back and see the movie "Apollo 13" you can see these "things". When we saw the movie in a theater she remarked "I'm betting 90 % of these kids have no idea what those "things" are and how we used them ". It wasn't that long ago-was it ?
