Has been the ability to go into the homes of the 80 and 90something people and chat with them. I cannot tell you guys how many times I have seen very frail couples from this era and then look on the wall and see a photo of them from the 1940s or even 30s. While a Rescue / Ambulance Officer is getting info, I think what they went through and am CERTAIN they probably danced to Moonlight Serenade. I started with the City Of Jax in 1996 and believe me, the calls we have to these folks are fewer and fewer. It breaks my heart. I simply LOVE that generation.
I have also heard stories from WWII from folks I have responded to that have literally left me speechless. There will never be another group like them. We are very close to losing all of them. That REALLY breaks my heart.
