After getting 10" of snow here, now they're predicting sleet and icy rain to follow. Around 1:00 pm there was a slight break in the weather so I jumped on my phone to find out if my daughter wanted us to deliver Everett to them. She said no... they'd come get him but we had to rendezvous at the convenience store where she left her car. They don't have a shovel at their house and since we have an extra one, we loaded the shovel and Everett in the car and took off to meet them. We maneuvered the hills in my neighborhood just fine. It's the first time I've driven in snow since I bought my Toyota Camry last summer. It did great! Thank goodness, they did manage to come through this afternoon and plow the streets. You can see pavement now so that was encouraging. We got to the rendezvous location and Kara tells us she forgot her car keys (SMH) so they got the shovel and the kid... but had to leave her car there until tomorrow. Hopefully they made it back home ok.
The best news is... I am FREE to make my famous seafood chowder and watch the playoffs!!! Woo-HOO!!!!!
