Thanks everyone, it's appreciated. My daughter wrote a lovely tribute--and that was just before we drove to the vet. When we made the appointment (on an emergency basis) she just spontaneously wrote that (she loved that dog beyond description).

Through a funny little twist of fate, my wife and I were both off work and our daughter (who lives an hour away) was over visiting when he had the trauma (paralysis) that finalized our choices, and so we were all there together at the end. The first pic above, which my daughter took, is from after we had calmed him some in the wake of the trauma.

He will be missed, and again, I know everyone knows what that is like. My best to you all.
