who do botox for migraines and have great success - which is why I wanted to try it.. but, man, its a bear to get approved for.. And the neurologist who stuck me told me why: about half the injections are in the same spots that people who get botox for wrinkles are in.. so, of course, lots of people try to get insurance to cover botox for migraines when they're actually getting them for cosmetic reasons.. People always screw everything up..
Now, in the 15 months it took to get approval, 3 other injections have been developed for migraines that are MUCH easier to get insurance approval for.. They were telling me about them at the doc's office the other day and gave me pamphlets, which I haven't read, yet.. But, I can at least list them for you to look up - hopefully one will be available to you and help.. They did tell me they were having great success with at least one of these injections, so I'll be looking into them, as well..
They are:
* Emgality - they gave me a booklet with up to 12 months free coupons.. once a month and you actually can inject it yourself (not a typical looking needle).. I THINK this is th eone they've had good success with at my neurologist..
*Ajovy - Again, another booklet.. don't see any coupons, but is also once a month self-injected
*Aimovig - Another booklet with up to 12 months free treatment
I think all 3 have websites where these coupons and stuff are located - just google the names.. I'll be looking into them soon - I gotta see how this botox works first and they said give that at least two injections - my second will be in 3 months.. So, I plan to be very informed by then, just in case.. Good luck!
