the newest version did a couple of things:
One... support for "something".... it's a feature for pro involving multi-cam editing... did not come out with the first version and was expected to come as an update -
The update came.... and no support.... and not only that, they cut other features.
It's all to make it more like iOS... meaning far fewer features.
They pretty much announced that the app was no longer targeting pro video editors.
Apple will most likely continue with iMovie... AND Final Cut Pro X... but it looks like, (no way to know for sure).... FCP X will keep getting downgraded until FCP X and iMovie merge into one 'home' video editing app.
